Agios Gordios Beach

Agios Gordios is a local community and a holiday resort village on the west coast of Corfu. It took its name from the church of Agios Gordios located at the center of the beach. The village of Agios Gordios is surrounded by green mountains that lead down to a long golden sandy beach with crystal clear water. It has many places to go for entertainment, enough supermarkets, bars and shops. The beach of Agios Gordios is a beautiful 1.5km long sandy beach and leaves enough personal space to everybody.The beach is bordered by the impressive Ortholithi, a huge rock emerging from the sea. The beach is very clean and there are no urchins. Agios Gordios offers a large number of apartments, boats, canoes and pedallos for hire. Umbrellas are free with lounge chairs if you order drinks or food.

10 minute walk from the main entrance of the beach, after Black Rock restaurant there was a shipwreck (Google Maps) on the beach. In 2013 a ship ran aground. After years it was in a state of rusting and now collapsed. (This photo is from 2020.)

Tip: It’s better to park your car before you enter the the supermarket/restaurant street because it’s difficult to u-turn at the end.
