Kalamaki is a large 1.5km long sandy beach on the north east corner of Corfu. It’s in the bay of Apraos and that’s why it’s sometimes referred to as Apraos beach. It’s about 5km from Kassiopi and about 40km from Corfu Town. Kalamaki beach has very shallow and very warm waters ideal for families with young children. You may have walked for more than 50m into the sea and the water might still be reaching only up to your knee. For those who want to reach faster in deeper waters, they can use the wooden deck which starts from the beach and continues into the open sea. Although Kalamaki is a relatively popular beach, it never feels crowded due to the size of it. It provides all the necessities of an organized beach for bathers such as deck-chairs, parasols, sea sports as well as the basic infrastructure for accommodation and food. Three restaurants overlooking the beach serve typical Greek cuisine an two beach bars serve drinks and snacks.
Warning: The beach is flat although there is a steep incline to get to the beach from the main road.
